At the end of last week I got a sudden notice that I won’t be able to renew the least on my lovely apartment in Brooklyn, which is set to expire on September 30th. I was totally shocked and upset, and to some extent I still am. But I will have to look for a new place and I’m trying to see this as an opportunity.
A number of years ago I used to work at the corporate office of West Elm, the home decor and furniture brand. And that’s where I discovered I really love design and home decor. The office itself is white, open, lofty and I always loved working there. I still visit all the time and always feel so at ease. So now that I’m moving I’m once again daydreaming about my ideal nest and what it would look like. I’d like to do several posts about special home details I like.
This post is about a table and floor lamp that I love, the loft task lamp. Don’t you love the above entry way? All the different frames on the wall, the organic wood stool and basket – it’s very cozy but not cluttered.
Other things I adore are exposed brick walls, you find that often in Brooklyn apartments, it’s such a delight! Rustic and urban at the same time. The two images below are lovely, aren’t they? I’m SO going to miss my apartment, but let’s hope for someplace even better.
