I am so excited it’s April! I love Spring, I love the warmer weather and more sunshine we’ve been getting in Seattle over the last week. I am looking forward to switching out my wardrobe, wearing lighter clothes and trying out brighter, more light-weight makeup looks! I’ll be writing about my spring make up favorites soon. This March I tried a few new things and have lots to share, let’s jump in!
Sephora Collection Perfection Mist Airbrush Foundation: I absolutely love how quick and easy this is! You have to hold the can a bit further away from the face than you think, but the result is a very even, thin, lightweight layer of full coverage, so great! It’s much faster than using a liquid foundation with a brush or Beauty Blender, I’m done with my makeup so much faster now. The only thing is, be careful about protecting your clothes and hairline as you spray.
Sephora Collection Perfection Mist Airbrush Blush: Even better than the foundation, this tiny little spray gives me the most perfect, airbrushed dolly cheeks. I just smile so the apples of my cheeks are raised, and then spray toward them, slightly spray back toward my temples. The concentration of color will build right at the center of your cheeks, since that part is sticking out the most when you smile, and all around it will be soft, lovely diffused color. I think there’s no better way to get this perfect of a blush application.
K&K Beach Clay Masque: This mask by Tone It Up has grown to become a weekly indulgence for me! I love the cool tingle of it, and it definitely leaves my skin softer, and fresh again after a tough week or makeup, dry air, and stress. My skin feels plumper, a bit more hydrated and like a layer of dullness is gone.
Kendra Scott Elisa Pendant: If you know me, you know I’ve been wild about rose since.. about 2008! This drusy necklace is such a fun take on the romantic metal. The rough texture creates so much sparkle, but it feels organic and “of the Earth”. This is a go to piece that I reach for almost daily.
LuMee “Selfie Lighting” Phone Case: This is kind of a ridiculous one, but I am telling you, this case is perfect for any chronic selfie takers out there. The case can be recharged so you’ll never run of battery on it. The super bright lighting perfectly create a halo of light around you in dark settings. The cool part is, the light can also be dimmed down and then brightened back up so you get just the right level of light!
BOOKS AND VIDEO
“Fed Up” on Netflix: This is an older food documentary from 2014, by Katie Couric. It’s a well done, reporting style film that takes a look at the obesity epidemic in the US, versus the proliferation of diet foods, low-fat foods. It’s a very telling tale of sugar, complex carbs, and the food industry’s interest in profit. A must-see in my opinion, for anyone concerned about their health!
“Cooked” on Netflix: This is a 4-part discovery of how we, as humans, cook and how the act of cooking has evolved over time. The four parts are organize by elements of cooking, so fire, water, earth and air. It’s beautifully shot, an anthropological study of our own species, through the lens of food, just fantastic!
That’s it for my favorites this month, I hope you enjoyed! What were some of your favorite things this month?
