My Birthday! And What I Wore: Lace, blush and nude details

Hello friends! This past weekend I celebrated a big birthday and had such a nice time. I love taking time out for myself now and again, and there’s no better time than your birthday to do so. We had a small get together at one of my favorite restaurants in Seattle, which has the most lovely back patio!

I recently did a bunch of shopping and spotted some great finds, among them, this lovely lace dress in a pinky, nude blush shade! It’s a soft tone, and such a romantic, girl look. I scored this at Zara for just $19.99, such a great deal. (unfortunately now sold out, but here’s the dress, I’ll post some dupes below!)

I love the details of this dress. The inner slip is lightweight, and hits just above the knee. While the lace outer shell goes to midi length, past the knees. The waist is cinched in with elastic, so it’s very comfortable, and it’s a little higher up, so just slightly higher than a natural waistline, but not quite an empire waist. This is great for me because this is right where I am smallest.

The bodice also has a bit of vertical pleating that is very flattering. And I love that even the edges of the arm homes are dainty with lace trim. The back is also nice, with a keyhole opening and long ribbon ties. This is great for adjusting to your desired fit!

Here’s a closer look at the back, you can see how this color looks on me, it’s such a flattering shade of blushy pink, one of my favorite colors for medium to darker skin tones.

Lately I’ve been really loving monochromatic looks, so I knew just the shoes to pair this dress with. Recently I found these lovely mid-height, patent nude, strapy sandals by Kenneth Cole Reaction. They were an amazing find, at just $22 at my local TJMaxx! These are the Kenneth Cole Mallory Ankle Strap Mid Heel Sandals (heel height is 2.75 inches. These also come in a lovely suede version and I found them in a 4 inch higher heel which is the “Brooke” model!) They’re so classic, have fun puffed straps and the most perfect pinky nude color!

One detail about these that I find chic are how high they go in the back. This looks very high-end to me, but it’s also practical since it allows the ankle strap to sit higher up on your leg, which feels more secure.

I did my usual waved hair and neutral makeup! I think I totally nailed it with my eyebrows, what do you think? Here’s me at the lovely venue. Isn’t this a gorgeous patio? The necklace I’m wearing is by Kendra Scott, and it’s the Elisa necklace.

I think pink nude dresses might just be the perfect spring and summer version of the little black dress. And this wouldn’t be a birthday party without… cake! We celebrated with lovely cupcakes from Yellow Leaf Bakery. They are especially known for their Bacon and Pancake cupcake!

Nothing feels more special than getting dressed up and spending some quality time with good friends. I really felt the belle of my own little ball and felt so loved! What summer dresses and accessories are you loving this year?
