Now that spring is finally in the air, I’m so ready for light colors and warm pastels. Ice-cream colored sweaters and tweed jackets just brighten my mood.
The other weekend I had such a wonderful time at the Seattle Style Summit, a unique blogger conference for the style community here. I was looking forward to the event and meeting other bloggers, so I chose a special look to showcase my own personal style. Naturally, I want to show you what I wore!
I bought this long, tweed, cream colored jacket a while ago at Zara, one of my favorite places to shop and when I bought it I had a very specific look in mind. When I saw the beautiful tweed texture of the jacket I just knew this was quintessentially Chanel. I’d been lusting after this gorgeous Chanel brooch, and I knew that it would be perfect on this jacket someday!
Not having the brooch yet, I still went ahead and bought the jacket, it was on sale! I used to own many tweed blazers when I lived in New York, where I had more opportunities to wear them.
Every time I would try to style my jacket for work, inside I knew that it would really be spectacular once it had my dream brooch on it. And so just last month I splurged and bought myself the brooch. I’m thinking of it as a wedding present to myself. I don’t know if that’s a thing, but let’s make it a thing! I am just enamored with this look 🙂 There’s something about ivory and sparkles that is so refreshing.
Details: I paired the tweed jacket with some simple skinny jeans, and a flowing, pale pink tank-style blouse underneath. For accessories, I wore comfortable suede wedges, and a simple gold confetti necklace to give the brooch the space to shine.
I can’t wait to wear this look for years to come, I find it so classic and chic, while still low-key. I hope you enjoy!
