I’m not sure I’ve even done one of these posts before, but I’ve been loving making little collages lately here on the blog. So now that it’s August and my birthday month I thought why not do a fun little wishlist post of things I’m eyeing for my birthday. You’ll probably recognize a couple of items from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale haul I did a couple of weeks ago. At that time it was all about grabbing anything I liked before it sold out, and deciding on whether or not to keep them after everything arrives! So a couple of things will be counting as birthday presents, tee hee!
This year, I did need a pretty big refresh to my wardrobe, I felt like my style was getting rather dull, off-trend and too casual. But for birthdays and gifting in general it’s so nice to get a few special things that you can wear routinely and grow to love over time. Personally this year I’m really craving some “me time” and want to plan a little spa day for myself. I’d love to do a DIY version here on the blog, I firmly believe you can always treat yourself right at home!
With that, let’s jump into the wishlist!
Besides all the material things, I already mentioned wanting some more “me time”. So for me that means, a mani/pedi, more time for reading books, yoga, and just rest! I threw in those cute pastel Essie nail polishes to represent all of that, hehe. As you can see from the above collage, I seem to have my eye on a lot of accessories. I love things like bags, wallets, sunglasses and jewelry for gifting for a few reasons. First, there’s not much to worry about with sizing. And second, it’s something the person can enjoy often and use daily! I think that’s much better than something you can only use on rare occasions. And third, accessories are something that people might not tend to splurge on, or spoil themselves on. So it’s a great way to treat someone!
What’s a birthday wishlist without a good handbag, am I right? 🙂 I had to include these from the Nordstrom Sale!
Another gorgeous bag, and you really can’t go wrong with a beautiful watch as a gift!
I can’t help but notice the huge slide-on loafer trend that has hit the blogger scene lately. I still haven’t bought shoes in this style yet (they seem so impractical for a city like Seattle once the rain comes back!) but if I were to grab a pair, these beautiful blush ones would be perfect! I’m also in the market for new sunglasses because I JUST lost a pair this weekend somewhere, oops! And I really never do that, so I’m hoping they will turn up somehow. But I’m loving the retro 1960’s style, always have! Especially in fresh new colors like almond or blush pink.
I’ll be sure to update on what presents I get or treat myself to! What are some of your favorite birthday traditions? I’d love to hear!
