Hi beauties! How are you all doing? I hope you’ve had a great week and are starting to look forward to Thanksgiving like I am!
Something I’m reflecting on this weekend is the idea of “allowing”. Meaning, giving yourself a little free space, to be just. Let your thoughts roll by, let your emotions come to the surface, let your words come out on paper so you can connect with your true needs. For me, I’m already feeling the excitement and hectic rush of the upcoming holiday season. And while that can be really energizing, it’s important to take care of YOU so that the season is enjoyable and not stressful. So step back, take a morning or full day on the weekend (like I did!) and just journal it out! Sound off! Acknowledge what you’re thinking and feeling, instead of pushing it down, because you’re “supposed” to be supportive, positive, committed, giving, whatever it is that might be hanging over your head.
If you saw on my IG stories, yesterday I just took a break from everything and allowed myself to veg out all day! And hoenstly, I needed it. I journal, I whined, I cried for no specific reason. Sometimes I just need to let it all out! And you know what? Afterwards I always feel better, clearer and able to decide some next steps.
Now let’s chat about the holiday series. In the fitness community on Instagram I’m feeling a lot of discontent lately. People are either not posting, checking in, they’re moved on to other programs, or they’re voicing their discontent regarding lack of structure for workouts and availability to content.
I can totally understand, which is why I’m trying to create my own schedules here (and share them with you!) But deep down, I still miss someone else creating the program for ME, ha! That’s what I found so valuable about TIU, prior to the app. (I think the app is beautiful, love the design! But for now, them monthly setup is not for me).
But you might want other options! I wanted to share something else that is coming up, is the Lauren Gleisberg Fitmas challenge. I think this year is the 4th time she’s doing it, and I’ve never tried it before! If you have nad like it, please comment down below. It starts next Monday, the 20th, and I’m thinking of trying it out. Anyone want to check it out with me? I like the idea of a pre-determined program for a month! If I like her program, I might just switch to that and add in TIU workouts when possible, and retire this Holiday Series. Let me know what you think! Wednesday: Two more of my old school favorites, Bikini Abs and Bikini Arms from the 2015 Bikini Series. Optional: 2-3 miles for #100byChristmas
Sunday: Set the Bar from Beach Babe DDV 2. If you don’t have this, you can measure out some basic fitness measurements, such as: how many sit-ups can you do in 1 minute? how many push-ups can you do in 1 minute? How many lunges with proper form can you do in 1 minute? Pick 4-5 exercises that you feel are good measures of your fitness ability, and then repeat them each week to see your progress!
